When you visit our pages, we store your IP address, the browser used (user agent) and the access time for security reasons, together with a log ID (shown in the page footer). This data is used exclusively to defend against and trace attacks, is stored on our own servers in Switzerland and is not passed on to third parties. If you reach our pages via an advertisement or campaign link, we additionally record the campaign identifier from the link address (e.g. utm_source, gclid) to measure the effectiveness of our advertising — likewise only on our own servers, without additional cookies and without reporting back to the advertising provider.
Questions to Corvus are processed server-side and transmitted for answering to the AI interface of our European partner OVHcloud (data centres in the EU) — we send only the chat content and our instrument context, never your IP address or contact details. For quality assurance and abuse prevention we log the time, IP address and the beginning of the question on our own servers. Please do not enter any personal data in the chat. The switch “Save chat history to help improve the product” below the input field is enabled by default: while it is on, we additionally log your chat questions and Corvus’ answers in full — together with your IP address, grouped by a random session identifier — solely to improve Corvus and to prevent abuse. You can turn it off at any time directly in the chat; this logging then stops, and your choice is stored in your browser for future visits.
If you request documents for an instrument via the chat, we store your e-mail address, any company name given, the instruments requested and the conversation as it stood at the time of the request. The purpose is to deliver the documents and to allow our specialists to follow up; without your explicit consent in the form, nothing is stored and nothing is sent. The download links are valid for 14 days and go exclusively to the address you provided. Deletion at any time by e-mail to info@springchemservices.com.
If you request advice via the chat, we store your name, your company, your e-mail address, a phone number if you choose to give one, your enquiry and the conversation as it stood at the time of the request. The sole purpose is for our specialists to handle your enquiry; nothing is stored unless you fill in the form. You will receive a confirmation with a reference number by e-mail. The data stays on our own servers in Switzerland and is not passed on to third parties. Deletion at any time by e-mail to info@springchemservices.com, quoting the reference number.
If you request a quote via the chat, we store your name, company, e-mail address, an optionally provided phone number, the delivery address, the selected instruments, your remarks and the conversation history at the time of the request. The request creates a draft quote in our order system, which is reviewed by a member of staff before the quote is sent to you. You receive an acknowledgement with a reference number by e-mail. The data remains on our own servers in Switzerland and is not passed on to third parties. Deletion at any time by e-mail to info@springchemservices.com, quoting the reference number.
We use a single functional cookie ("cs_lang", 12 months) that stores your language choice. There is no tracking, no analytics and no advertising cookies. You can block or delete cookies in your browser at any time.
We currently use Google Fonts to display our typefaces; this transmits your IP address to Google (including to the USA). We are working on hosting the fonts locally. For the Corvus chat we use the AI interface of OVHcloud in the EU (details in the Corvus chat section). Our site also links to external websites (such as BYK Instruments and Spring ChemTrading); the respective operators are responsible for their data processing. We do not use any other third-party services.
